The Vasectomy Clinic is a private practice founded in Seattle in 1987 by Charles L. Wilson, M.D. to focus on comfort and convenience for vasectomy patients. He now dedicates his entire practice to vasectomy, and has personally performed over 12,000 vasectomies at The Vasectomy Clinic. He and his staff remain passionate about making each patient’s experience the very best it can be.

Dr. Wilson has collaborated with other interested doctors for over 25 years to advance modern vasectomy technique. His contributions include the Wilson vasectomy forceps, the no-scalpel vasectomy training model and training videos, procedure workshops on No-Scalpel Vasectomy, Advanced Vasectomy Techniques, and No-Needle Anesthesia. He authored the peer-reviewed AAFP monolog and video guide “No-Scalpel Vasectomy for the Family Physician.” In 1999, Dr. Wilson originated the No-Needle Vasectomy.

In addition to private practice, Dr. Wilson is appointed Clinical Associate Professor of Family Medicine in the University of Washington School of Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians and faculty of the AAFP Clinical Procedures Workshops on vasectomy. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.

The nickname, “Dr. Snip,” appeared on doorsteps throughout the Northwest on February 23, 1995, in the banner headline of the morning newspaper, the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. The Dr. Snip article featured Dr. Wilson and the new no-scalpel vasectomy technique offered at The Vasectomy Clinic. The article was informative, laced with humor, and stimulated interest in vasectomy in the Seattle metropolitan community. Known as a socially progressive community, the Seattle area has a 40% prevalence of vasectomy, far higher than the national average.
